Transforming Preschoolers’ Spatial Orientation

Digital Promise is working with project leaders at the Education Development Center (EDC) on an effort to improve young children’s spatial orientation through hands-on activities and the use of new media for emerging handheld platforms. As part of the collaboration, Digital Promise is co-leading the design of a playful and authentic assessment to evaluate the promise of the designed resources. This involves developing learning blueprints or maps of content specifications and designing and iteratively revising assessment items based on findings from pilot studies in preschool classrooms.
