Tough as Nails, Nimble Fingers: Developing a K-8 Coding Pathway for Kentucky Appalachia
This research practitioner partnership developed a K-8 pipeline for computer science and computational thinking education within two rural school districts in Eastern Kentucky: Pikeville Independent School District and Floyd County Schools. The project created district curriculum maps for CS/CT, trained over 200 educators, exposed over 1000 students to CS/CT lessons, and shared insights extensively with academic, practitioner and general audiences.
